Mozambican law requires that all applications to film in Mozambique are handled and issued through a Mozambican production company. The issuing of permitts is run through the Mozambican film commission based in Maputo. Mozambique Films trading as Zig Zag Publicidade can process and manage all permitt applications.
On application to Mozambique Films all relevant information relating to crew size, gear, locations, nature of shoot etc .Shall be compiled ans submitted. Any special effects, weapons, stunts and explosions have to be well detailed in these applications.
The municipality also requires all relevant information to be passed through its office. This is especially relevant when filming in public places, road closures etc. The cost of these filming permitts is related to the nature of the shoot as well as theamount of gear and crew. Municipal costs are an additional cost.
